Default K&N Air Filter

So I think my car has a wrong air filter installed, I didnt do it, bought it used

Some AE tube thing that dropped down past the battery. Doesn't look right and gets dirty quite often, i clean it almost every month.

Im looking to replace it, whats a good one from K&N that I can get?

A picture might help people try to figure out what you're looking for.

Sounds like its a Cold Air Intake, which would be aftermarket, the stock intakes filter is enclosed towards the back of the engine on top.

sounds like you just need a cone filter. or else you need to go back to your OEM box and OEM filter

Yes, it is a cold air intake. It just sucks that its downlow and picks up dirt fast

Cut it off and put the filter up in the bay further.

Like dynastyracer22 said, remove the lower pipe altogether, and just run the air filter connected to the pipe connected to the throttle body.

For that I would have to buy a new air filter as the lower pipe is a bigger size. unless they have like a small adapter

i like how your engine has a long thin unfused wire coming from the positive battery terminal

as for the intake, see if anyone will trade a stock airbox for it? the aem intake isn't very useful anyways. back in the day, aem used to publish dyno results. on the em2, the V2 intake added 2 hp and took away low end torque
