Duplicolor MetalEdge paint..makes anything polished look anodized!
Krylon also makes a paint like this. I used the duplicolor version and am very impressed with it. Some people asked me about it, so I figured others would like to know what it turns out like.
With alot of things that could benefit from an anodized appearance like small underhood mods, valve covers, lca's, etc....this stuff is nice.
My wife picked up a set of wheels cheap like this and in this color. The centers were kind of milky looking....straight ugly.

This is the stuff. 7.50 a can at advance auto.

So, we wanted to make them look a little better. I also have been wanting to try this paint, so I did.
Here's the turnout.

ah they changed the name to metaledge now?
use to be metalcast, but I agree the finish does end up looking a lot like an anodized part, but heaven forbid a rock hits the part!

Oops...you know what...I f*cked up. Krylons is called metaleffects, duplicolors is metalcast. Something says edge on there though...I remember it...lol.
fo sho!
a friend used metal cast "smoke" and it gave a real nice grey transparent finish on the tail lights he used them on.

I did that with some bobo rims I had laying around. It looked great for a few months...but eventually got eaten up by road dirt, rocks and all of that good stuff. Eventually ended up being pink.

Well, it certainly depends on the conditions your driving in I suppose. Anything will eventually get torn up. 7.50/can though....doesn't take much to fix it.
^^^ sick i was gonna do the same thing to a set of rims i was going to polish down but i guess ill polish quick and paint, just gotta find a store that carries it here.
