He had to have been talking about the clutch. I see ep3's and DC5's making 400+ hp with no mentioning of a trans swap. After an additional 50-75hp though, it's almost a necessity to upgrade to clutch that can withstand the HP increase.

ep3's and usdm dc5's don't have lsd's.

i've heard of the oem lsd's dying on itr's with big power increases. however, there are quite a few people on 8thcivic with superchargers and turbos, and no mention of lsd's taking a **** yet. they might just need some time to start wearing out. the z3 has the same lsd as the dc5 btw.

I haven't heard anything like that but, then again it's not like they intended to manufacture the car with the thought that the buyer is going to slap a fatty turbo or something on the car haha. I'm sure there's a recommended limit to anything factory on the car.

What Vladd said. I had just been viewing the JDM K20a2's, that come with the lsd 6 speed trans. I assumed USDM were the same, but I stand corrected. Like Josh's EP3 said, I'm sure there is some definitive breaking point to where the transmission can't handle the HP gains, I just haven't read anything.
