08 Civic EX oil capacity
I just changed the oil on my 08 Civic EX. 1.8 L engine. Drained the oil changed the filter. Refilled the crankcase with 4 Quarts of oil. Now when I check the oil with the dipstick it reads low just barely registering on the stick. Car is level, oil has had 1 hour to drain back into pan. New oil is clean, but I can read it. Could I have the wrong dipstick? Both my owners book and the service manual say 3.9 Quarts with filter.

Trust me, I work at a dealership and typically do 2 to 3 of these a day.
Unless you want to challenge the metering on our pumps, but I can do two things to clear that up. One, I can do a comparison against a calibrated standard. Then, I can run a series of samplings with that calibrated standard to describe the historical and predicted volumes that this pump will issue under the ambient conditions during this time of year for my location. I probably won't do that because I really don't care that much and I'm lazy as **** right now.

Since when did working at a dealership mean ****? Moreover, more often than not, dealership personnel have f ucked up something on my car which is why I gave up on them all together. So if you do work for a dealership, I wouldn't go on bragging about it because it doesn't carry much weight with people.
Obviously a tech at a Honda dealership is much more in the know than the engineers that designed every aspect of these cars. The owner's manual is clearly second protocol after the omnipotent techs.
I have a 08 SI.
I ended up putting 4.4 qts.
I have a 06 EX and I fill them till their dip stick indicates full.
