This morning at around 2 am I was driving with a friend who had a mustang a TA and a Camaro came up next to my friend on a 6 lane hwy, it was the stang, TA and camaro stopped at a light I was coming up behind in the center lane. They toook off and I just slowly drove behind them honestly under the speed limit and they are multiple cars ahead, when an SUV cop pulls way out in front of my behind those guy. I was like oh man they are going to get fuked, next thing I know there are multiple cops everywhere including one behind me. Got pulled over tried to explain I had no part in any racing, and that I was not speeding. I got taken out of my car searched cuffed arrested. I got a ticket for drag racing and 31-39 over which is garbage because I was going 50 in a 45 20 cars back from the fools racing. I did not even believe it my car got towed I got arrested and now I am going to file a lawsuit or something. I tried to be rational I know when I did wrong but this was a joke I thought I was dreaming. ANYONE WITH NEGATIVE COMMENTS DONT POST. I am very upset about this for obvious reasons I just would like some advice. I have a good lawyer I just want my car out of the tow yard and I want this bs dropped.

 

Yea I would contact one asap.. You have a case against them for sure if its as you stated... Good luck God to love the cops....

Thanks for the quick responses. I am so upset right now I just want to get my car back. Not one of the officers was rational in anyway I was treated like ****. Should I try talking to the head of their department first or just got straight to a lawyer. I want to make sure that something is done. It is one thing when the individuals racing actually get tickets but why should I when I was not doing one damn thing wrong. I got a ticket for 30 over a few months before which I accepted I was upset but I knew I was speeding I knew I deserved it, but this just makes me sick.

 

question, when I do go to court do they have to present a dash cam with me in the "pack" of cars that were racing. I really would like to know what to do I have never been so innocent, I mean it was obvious who was racing 3 lanes the 3 domestics that launched off the line and were multiple cars ahead of me in my honda granny shifting, honestly a lot of it was hate towards the fact that I had a nice honda with an exhaust, I am sooo livid something will be done.

 

The cops will not have footage of you on their dashcam. the cameras are set to record automatically when the sirens/lights are turned on. unless they had their sirens turned on before the cars took off the line, more likely than not, its going to be your word against theirs in court.

Ya I know I am soo upset. I have a lawyer lined up, but I have a question since they seized my car, they will not mess with it will they. I am just worried that I will get it back with dents and scratches and my lip ripped off. I am so livid I cannot believe this happened my car is mint and idk what I would do if I got it back messed up. Its my life my car

 

well when the cop lit up its lights to pulled me over I am sure on the cam it will show how far ahead the 3 cars who actually were racing were ahead of me. I am so pissed off because it is one thing if I was speeding/racing but it is bs when I was driving at a normal rate of speed.

 

they wont mess it up and if they do they will have to pay for any damages. my buddy had his towed not to long ago and he got it back the same way it went in (not saying it wont happen), sucks that its gone but with a good lawyer you should get it back soon. G/L

 

eh i dont know i heard someone got their car towed and it came with scratches on it that wasn't there before..... they didnt do anything about it.


that sucks tho man... for sure.... it kinda sounds like the cops had this set up i mean how often is there multiple cops EVEYWHERE?????? anything happen to the other 3 cars?

 

We have thought about that. The mustang was my buddy the other two were randoms. There cars got towed and they were also brought to the PD. Where we were it is not uncommon for there to be multiple cops that is why I was NOT SPEEDING/RACING. I am so upset I have talked to a few attorneys and they seem like they do not believe me or understand that I was arrested for no reason. If my car gets scratched up I will be so upset I just put my gram lights on I can not even think about something being ruined on my car. Attorneys have said they will get me out of this but I want something done. I lost my car for 5 days got arrested for no reason, and now I have to pa for an attorney for court. I have been told not to contact supervisors/PD about dealing with this until court. I hjave both my friend and the passenger in the mustang who will both say that I was not street racing. My friend in the mustang was they all went from a dig and were gone I still do not even understand how I got pulled over esp for drag racing. At first the cop said loud exhaust then I got arrested hahaha. *** THIS.

Advice: 1) Hire Lawyer, 2) Don't post about the incident on the internet until it is resolved.

 

Well, if the police do not have any proof of you actually "racing" then they will have no choice but to have the case dropped. I would most definitely call your lawyer asap and get this started. They only pulled you over because you were in the vecinity and I am guessing you have a "modified" car. Depending on where you go, some police officers will stereotype you for the type of car you drive. So if they were racing and you were anywhere near it you are guilty as well. But they have to proof your guilt, you don't have to prove your innocence. Just go to court about it and if you are telling us the truth and you were not involved and you were NOT speeding then there should be no problem having this dropped. I doubt they had you on camera or anything like that.

Ya I have just contacted a lawyer. Gohanburner I am thinking the same thing, like my buddy in the mustang/his passenger already agreed to be witnesses. It was a complete joke how bad they stereotyped my car I had my door panels out because I am rewrapping them and they were like o your car is gutted blah blah blah it was a joke. They were saying stuff about carbon fiber and talking like they knew I had to be street racing I could not believe it I was out of my car in hand cuffs after I told them exactly what happened. I thought I was dreaming any of you guys would have freaked out I felt like I was in a movie being set up by some crooked cops.

 

Honestly this happened to me too last year In RIVER GROVE ,IL !!!!! My lawyer got the dragracing dismissed but i still got charged with speeding 40 over such Fcuken Bullsh*t .... wish you luck man. Hopefully you get a nice judge and a good lawyer

 

They might have footage of of the incident. Each police department has different setting for dash camera vids. I know for Vernon Hills police they cam is on full time when the car is on and an hour after it's shut off.

 

when they took my car to the tow yard all my cds were gone, they took my 10 dollars i had in the center console and all my change. hopefully you took everything out with you when u got your car towed. GL to you though

Ya I am really upset I had a very nice digital camera in the car and I was not able to get it before it was towed. The police were soooo sketchy I felt like I was in a movie honestly it was like a nightmare. I am more worried about the exterior of my car getting messed with wheels, paint, lip ect ect. I will keep you guys updated it is really sad how bad they stereotype Honda's. I was also wondering I have hondata is there anyway to pull up my rate of speed/rpm and the time in which was traveling at that speed or rpm.

 

Get your buddy in the Mustang to take an affidavit that you were not racing with them and didn't try to keep up. He's in big trouble with no way to get out of it without lawyering up and pleading to some lesser charge if he's given the option.

 

How do I go about having him do an affadavit do I have to have a lawyer. How would I go about having him give an affadavit. Like you said he knows he is in trouble so he wants to make sure that I do not get false charged for some BS. Thanks guys for the responses
