Having an ITR and kids?
I need some advice.
If you guys only had 1 vehicle and it was an ITR would you keep it when you had a new baby? Could you please let me know of any personal experiences with this situation...it would be greatly appreciated.
Also, I am up North in Canada here and it WILL snow!

My son grew up in my ITR (From the Womb hearing the exhaust to the day I sold it (He was 1 going on 2). The funny thing is he can spot an integra quicker then I can and he can spot a real type R. He's only 3.5 years old. The only thing that sux is the 2 door thing, but tough it out until you can afford a 4 door civic or integra (Or wait to buy a WRX or Lancer EVO......okay that's my plan never mind).
I have a 1.5 year old and a 94 3dr GSR. The biggest problem is having the carseat in the back. The front seat has to be moved almost all the way forward so the rear facing seat has room. My wife hated it. We dealt with it ok though. Of course our other car is an Odyssey and ended up taking it most of the time. The bigger problem with the integra will be having 2 kids.

when my kids were growing up, I had a gs-r 4 dr sedan. not quite the car the R is, but way more practical for a family. now that the kids are grown, the R is perfect.
I have a 5yr old who loves riding in my R. It's been an inspiration for her b/c she loves everything YELLOW!!!
And not to mention that I have another one on the way, my R isn't going anywhere!..well at least I'm not planning too.

Sell the kids and buy mods for the R.
I got a good $4000 for my kids; went out and got sme nice Toda B's and a Toda header. Money well spent.
Also, the Toda B's and header don't **** all over the place an smell funny; well without proper install they do. Plus I can bea the hell out of the Toda stuff and I don't have to worry about DCFS showing up.

Keep both.
getting a 4 door is just a marketing ploy put in place by Car companies.
I had my ITR for my daughters first 2 years and she loved it (I also had not 1 complaint or problem).

I have had my 98 since day 1 and I have an 11 m.o. daughter. She was in the womb in the R, taken to the hospital to be born in the R, and so far, driven daily in the R. She loves the car. I have a pretty loud setup on my car and she loves the exhaust tones, especially at 5500 RPM's.
Keep the R, it is baby friendly!

I have a 1 year old son. We have a toyota matrix as a second car now, but for the first 8 months, we had a 98 civic coupe and the teg.
the firts, rear facing infant seats are a pain in the ***. your passanger seat will be almost useless, but my wife and I somehow managed to drive from south VA to NJ like this.
Once he was old enough to sit in a foreward facing seat, the passanger seat has full range of adjustment again.
Also the infant seats are a little hard to get in and out of the back, but not impossible. Once again, the foreward facing upright stays in and it's not too hard to get him in and out of there.
both the regular stroller and the jogging stroller fit in the back with enough room to also throw a diaper bag back there. The strollers actually fit in the teg better then they fit in the matrix, but they are a little harder to get in.
I had a 2 door explorer for about 3 weeks after my son was born, and the teg was 150 times easyer then that POS was.
I say go for it, the major drawbacks are scratched up passengerside from bumping it with car seats, and spit-up all over the back seat, but that stuff cleans up really easy.

I got an 11 mo daugter in my 2dr GS-R. rear facing is a bitch, it's easier to put the seat on the pass side and climb in through the driver side. I also found it tough to properly secure it. Now it's foward facing and I can use the JDM tether mounts in the trunk. Sorry ITR's have a bar and can't use the tether mounts.
hmmmm kids and an integra, especially and R, i would say most of the complaints will come from whoever is riding shotgun because there face will we against the windshield. Id say buy a beater 4 dr, or sell it and buy a wrx, but wait the R is such a cool car. U know what now i now why you posted this because im stumped. You got a tought desicion ahead of you, but do what is best for the family then whats best for you.

My boy is four years old and he sits in the front seat.
The R is better than my gf`s drag car which blows your ears..
4door would be better but the R is a good compromise..

kids to school when you already have 2...
