Default B16 swap in 90 dx running hot

ive been driving my 90 dx hatch with a b16 swap. ive noticed the motor getting pretty damn hot. not overheating but def running hotter than my single cam si hatch. its got an aluminum rad with a slim fan that works fine and the temp guage never shows it getting to overheating temps (needle stays near the middle). the engine bay is a friggin oven tho, EVERYTHING is like almost to a melting state, my strut bar, the intake mani, wire looms, even near the headlights is hot as the friggin sun! its running fine and no coolant loss or nothin. do the dohc's just run a little hotter? im not real comfy with my engine sweatin like that lol

if you think its running hotter than it should, i would check the coolant temp. sending unit to make sure youre getting the correct reading at the gauge....

get one of those infra red temp readers, point it at the engine and stuff and see what the real temp is

you could always change the thermostat, and temp sensor. mabye it is overheating and the sensor just doesn't work, or visa versa.

its not smoking or anything..no power loss...runnin fine so thats why im stumped. i mean cooling fan kicks on at the right time and it doesnt heat up sooper fast or nothin. i just realized the engine bay is extremely hot! ill swap the temp sender and see if that changes anything. its the lil one on the head right? one wire pin..

i figured that was the one but wasnt sure... is till dont get why it would be working at all if it was bad. i mean it either reads temp or it doesnt...maybe its just me being used to my sohc si hatch running cooler...

my B18A1 doesn't run that hot , how is the airway to the radiator/fan? maybe relocate license plate off to side so more airflow to the engine bay, or a cheap cheap way is take off hood put some washers on the hood bolts and re attach hood makes the hood like a scoop so air flows in and up out onto windshield.

i have b18 with new radiator and 180 deg thermostat
it runs under half way
thats with no fan!!!

normal car runs between 180 and 225 or so
shouldnt be any hotter that 225

most honda run 180-200

my si hatch has a temp guage pod and stays under 190...and thats like 1/4 the way up on the stock temp guage. the b16 is more towards half way. i mean maybe im just comparing it to the sohc like i said before but is seems way too hot to me. i mean it runs fine just bugs me that its cooking under that hood
