Slammed 92 GSR: suspension problem??? HELP!
Hey there. My Integra GSR has a serious suspension problem.. OK, I bought the car already slammed to the ground (non-adjustables) The front end has no camber kit, so the wheels are tucked in the fenders. Anyways, the problem is that over every little bump, pothole or crack in the road - the car bounces like you would not believe... The bouncing continues for a bit, then fades out slowly bit by bit. (It almost feels like its bouncing only on the springs) The suspension kit is: tokico red springss with tokico blue shocks... According to the previous owner of the vehicle, he says that the shocks are blown
Another guy i was talking to told me that its my strut bars.... I'm sort of confused now, and need some help to find out what it is. Tell me what you guys think, thanks.

yeah ur shock is wat absorbs the energy of the spring when it reboundswhen the shock is shot ther is nothing to absorb this enery so the spring keeps bouncing. The car being slamed proly has a great deal to do with y the shocks are blown.
FYI: id fix ur camber problems asap or ur gunna starting eating tires like crazy (no lie)

If the springs are cut you wanna change those out. But the problem is your shocks are blown.

OP: Replace the shocks, but replace them with good ones or they'll just blow out again real soon. Tokico Illuminas or Koni Sports are excellent choices that should last a long time (I have over 170K miles on my Koni Sport shocks).
Don't worry about camber kits. Just get a good alignment after installing the new shocks and call it a day.
Actually that is a lie. Toe eats tires, not camber. Period. This has been covered many times in the suspension forum. I suggest you read up on some of the experiences people have had in there.

^no
most road course,auto-cross will have some negative camber, if you have deadspots in your tires/"less tire on the ground" then you're over inflating

Ok, so therefore having some camber is good?? Because a lot of ppl are telling me to straighten out my wheels so i can run my car a lot quicker..

And actually, most people with lots of track time on the car have more OUTSIDE wear even with negative camber, due to the hard cornering and the wear that puts on the outside edges of tires.

ok so like everybody else said it is your shocks. but you need your shocks and springs replaced if you put nice new shiny shocks on there your slammed springs will blow them again very quickly. and as far as the camber myth not wearing out your tires is not entirely true. camber can and will wear out the inside of your tires. as stated before you must have some negative camber, that is good. but if you have crazy negative camber it will wear out on the insides. if you are constantly riding on the inside of your tires your inside of your tires will wear out faster, plain and simple. yes toe will wear them out quicker than camber but with negative toe the inside of the tires will get cupped as the front of the tires are pointing towards each other causing the inside of the tires scrub against the road in a sweeping motion. but with TOO much negative camber it will be worn smooth on the inside of the tires. i have worked on hundreds of customers cars and have seen it time and time again. happy motoring!
