will NGK RACING spark plugs make any difference in a stock GSR
will NGK RACING spark plugs make any difference in a stock gsr motor, i know it may produce hotter spark is it worth the money to get quality spark plugs and wires if your engine is bone stock with headers and intake.???
Actually you have it backwards. i believe it will make a cooler spark. in turn increasing the chance of pinging. dont waste your money. racing plugs are for racing engines not stock engines. thats why they say racing on them. buy ngk v power and a sub with the money youd waste.

Otherwise racing plugs aren't anything special. They don't generate any more power. The type of tip (for spark generation) and plug gapping will make some difference (racing or standard plugs), but nothing you'll ever feel nor need on a stock motor.
Most people that road race still use standard plugs. For NGK a heat range 6 is standard for most cars. Some people might run heat range 7 (colder plugs, still non-race) because they're running higher compression and/or running their motors nearly wide open for 30 minute stretches. That will be hot enough and long enough to merit colder plugs. But that's the car's only purpose.

NGK V-power plugs for $6/set - change every 10K-15K miles
NGK plug wires for $35-$40/set - change every 100K-150K miles (used my last set of NGK plug wires for nearly 150,000 miles without any problems)

Okay well they used to be about $40 when I first got them back in 2003 or so. Now they run about $55 for GS-R applications, non-VTEC applications are around $40.
*edit www.importrp.com has NGK wires for B-series VTEC applications for $48. non-VTEC is only $36. This is where I got my Exedy OE replacement clutch kit for only about $130. They have awesome prices.
