option racing spark plugs?? pulstar spark plugs??
i bought my gsr and it came with option racing spark plug wires... i don't know much about spark plugs at all
but i mean are these any good??
should i replace them??
and i have another question about pulstar spark plugs...
i saw them in a magazine and had a stronger ignition than others...
will it help?
are they worth it??

i had option racing wires on my car and they were horrible. they would pop off when i was driving and it would stall. i got ngk's to replace them with ngk iridum plugs and the car runs amazing.

i've never had the problem where my spark plugs pop off...besides that issue...why do people replace spark plug wires??
like i said i don't kno much if anything about spark plugs and wires...can anyone help??

Just run stock plugs and stock wires. That's all i've ever done on my turbo builds. I dont see why people get so wrapped up in the hype of "racing plugs" and "racing spark wires." Its merely an ad ploy to get people who dont know the difference to buy something that sounds like a better buy.
I would suggest the stock NGK plug for your car at the stock gap. I run NGK BKR7e's and gap them at .28". Those plugs are too cold for a stock application, but you get the idea...
Also, i replace my plugs because i foul them out every month or two...you shouldn't have that problem on a stock car though. Boost generally does that though

spark plugs are bogus. copper will last you about 30k, platinum will last about 60. the only reason you really need platinums are if you own a minivan where it takes 5 hours just to replace them. stock plugs do fine in our cars.
as for wires, they wear out over time, the insulation can wear out and youll arc right from the wire to the block causing a misfire. oil will accelerate this greatly, so try not to get oil on them.
as for performance spark plug wires, many of them just have lower resistance than stock, what that will do is cause more amperage to get through, and will overheat your coil, so unless youve got an aftermarket coil, like msd, then your just gonna break things. the only things you can do to spark to make it make more power are advance it, and to make the spark last longer, neither of which is done through the plugs, or wires.
the only reason youll need any kind of aftermarket ignition is if your pushing major boost and theres so much crap in the combustion chamber the spark can no longer bridge the gap, and youll NEED that extra amperage i talked about earlier (coil, wire, and plug) to fire the cylinder, and youll need plugs that run colder than stock cause itll get mighty hot in there.

well low resistance will cause overheating, which is caused by amperage, in a wire, in an amp, in your pants... anywhere.
