Default need help!

i dont know if someone already asked this i used the search but i couldnt find it, i have d16a6 and im rebuilding it idk if i should go vtec head maybe d16z6 or any sohc vtec head but how hard is it to swap the head cylinder and is there any right up that i can use? and also is this going to be a problem for getting smog?
