eagle rods any good?
there coming brand in the box, w/an h22 im buying. i want to go around 15 psi on the street and who knows at the track. will they hold up? they say there good for 600+ hp is that true?
yep, many can attest to this. For the price you can about buy 2 eagles for 1 crower. jmo and about everyone elses.
Viren (b18bturbo) will tell you after he gets back from his race this weekend.
teho (to each his own). peace
<~~~going to be running eagles with "some" boost

well yes eagle rods kick ***. However, im no prelude genius, but I've heard H22 motors are fickle when it comes to FI. Just make sure you get some beefy pistons to go along with those Rods

unfortunately, with speed, money is a key factor. I won't say everything that i'm doing, but i'm spending close to 20k to get my car close to single digits. The car is a coupe and it will be a fully loaded car. Don't let the figure scare you away, when the shop told me i almost said screw it. But my motor will be able to handle upwards of 700hp with a standalone and i'll be pushing about 300hp on the street and 400 at the track.

Yeah the h22 was not made for no forced induction, so I would sleeve it if your really planning on putting this car to work. imo just get every internal part they make from a good aftermarket company and you will be set not have to be worrying about anything.
Viren does in fact run the eagle rods in his race car. He was putting down somewhere around 640 hp i believe. Im not sure exactly what is done to the new motor, if he is even running it.
But yes the eagle have seen over 800 hp on some cars.
I myself cant wait to get my crowers in my motor

400 whp will most likely not get you close to the single digits. but im guessin you are ditching the ex motor?
prelude rcr, i guess you remeber my other post about the stock pistons. yea i took everyones' advice and im getting it sleeved. also im going w/eathier je or wiesco's.
everyone else, thankx for the input, swayed me more towards keeping the eagles, just kind of still thinking about crowers.

Its just not about adding a standalone my friend, but anyhow good luck
first there is this little thing called traction, then once you get that...then you run into the problem with breaking ****, like axles. anyways, i dont have time to go in detail, but i would do a little more reading before suggesting all you need is a standalone. I have a standalone, and im no where near 11's. what turbo are you going to use...for sure not that greddy mitsu

He said he's spending 20k, so I damn sure hope that includes some strong axles, traction bars, etc. It should not cost that much just to build a motor. If it does, he should have bought some Spoon engines in bulk instead
and two bottles, the big ones

What turbo are using? how big is the i/c? I don't care if you are making 650hp but you can't put it to the ground, that is just wasted power. Care to share us your set up? Anyway, good luck. I'm in the same boat like you are. I've invested 17g in it.
Eagles are not taht great....I shattered 2 of them when I was on the peak of my redline at the dyno. I made 682whp at 9600rpm's and they shattered on me.
just kidding guys

Trade Secret: Eagles have a higher QC standards than Crowers...
Flame me all you like, I think Crowers are just getting too big for their britches. They ask $600 a set, and they don't hold up to the power that Eagles are handling.
Eagle will forever be in my motors.
Best bang for the buck by a MILE.
