Is She Worth It?
Is She Worth It?
Bridget was my first. We had great plans together, including heart transplant, cosmetic surgery, and overall improvements... You know how it is. But I start having my doubts and I was wondering if you guys and gals who had done some body work can maybe chime in and share your thoughts.
The Good: Almond cream! I like that color! I picked her up for 400.00, and I think she paid for itself already in fuel savings, as my other car is a 16MPG Nissan Pathfinder. I was hoping to turn her into 1988 Si that has never existed.

The Bad and Ugly:
Bridget suffers from one major swipe, multiple small dents and small rust spots, collapsed(?) roof-top, all of which I will picture for your viewing… displeasure.
I already gutted most of the interior, leaving only dashboard and door panels. Everything else – gone. This was my idea to turn diarrhea brown to Landau black or two-tone Black/Beige interior.
Looking at these damages, do you think she is worth the time/money/trouble?

Sorry for all those pictures, if you have trouble loading them up, let me know and I will just post links to them.
Thanks

It has always been my build/project car. Thread wise - you are right. After I get back I will pull in my resources (other threads I started about this car) to get it going.
FYI, I do have another hatch that right now I am trying to make drivable so I can start working on this rattle can.

Fixable for sure, if you have the time and love to put in. You get a great sense of accomplishment as you knock it through. You will have to do some body work, of course.

I hate to be the negative one here, but I am going though a restore job that started better off than yours, and I am so through it!!! Its a ton of work and trust me, there is so much rust hiding, ontop of what you can see. Now I have experienced body and paint, I will (as I would sugget to you) find a really clean shell to start with in like florida or arizona (Im in Canada) and have this one for your daily.
You can totally do it, but be warned what a PITA it is doing body work properly. And keep in mind how quickly rust can come back....
