Default Engine start without rad installed, damage?

Im wondering if I can do a test start on my engine before I put the rad/coolant/fan etc back in. Can I just let it run for 5-10 seconds or so without causing damage? I just wanted to test the wiring side of things is all working well

Thanks in advance

I let my B16 run for about 20 seconds with no coolant. Still seems to be fine.

yeah, it'll be fine, just don't rely on the dash to tell you its getting hot, since there is no warm water passing it, it won't know its hot.

but i've done it, it doesn't immediately get hot, its ok
