C-clip for Speedo cable?
I lost mine or it fell out when my stock speedo cable broke for having nearly 246K on it.
So I bought a new OEM DA one.... (seems thicker and slightly longer)
I'm running a gsr hydro tranny.
I tried to but it in and it would not stay...
q?
1) does it need the c-clip?... if not what am i doing wrong
2) if the c-clip is required, where can I buy one?
TIA,
Charlie Moua

In a pinch, a small paperclip that fits through the groove or some bare wire.
(I need to buy a new one too! No idea where from though -sorry)
It does need a clip to really hold it in there - some people say they have been running for years without it, but mine is a loose fit and won't stay in at all without something.

My 90CRXHF runs without one... I do get a little speedo bounce when cold out... and I have lubed my cables twice in 4 months to keep the squeaking down...

Here are some pics from another thread:
At the transmission, pull the inside completely out of the housing:

The entire inner cable should be 34 3/4" long..
If not,it is broken..
If the cable is in one piece,Grease it up and stick it back in the housing:

The green line should be inserted all the way to where the slot is:

It is then held in place with the clip which is usually found inside the rubber cover:

You may have to turn the cable until it lines up with the drive in the sensor...
