Default Electrical problem (idle drops / raises)

never had this problem before. But I noticed when i switched to a obd1 ecu (p28) I always noticed with the headlights on my car my idle would go to 1,300 and than drop back down to 900 and do that over and over like a vaccumm leak.

finally got my car tuned on crome and now when i turn the headlights on the rpm goes from 900rpm with a steady -20vaccumm to like 500-600rpm and the vaccumm goes from -20 to like -15 and bounces around in that area. It also does this when i roll up the windows for more than like 2secs and i notice a small difference when the radiator fan is on too.

when i let off the gas sometimes and push the brake coming up to stoplights my cars idle will drop so much the battery will flicker and sometimes it goes so low it just dies. but I can fully restart it every single time.

had the alternator checked and they said it was at 13.x and tha battery was tested too and also tested again by my buddy to double check.

with the headlights on i notice i smell alot of fuel which makes me think the headlights r putting a load on the car pushing my 440cc injectors to pump out more fuel and thats the cause of the car dieing because of to much fuel....

ill tell you about the car:
cars turboed
tuned on crome
d16y8 fully rebuilt
car used to have a 1,600watt stereo last year on this same alternator

i wanna replace the alternator but the car always starts up when it dies so can it really be a bad alternator?

I can't help you with most of your problem. But I can tell you with 99% certainty that an alternator doesn't have anything to do with the starting up of your engine. It only works while the engine is already running.

13.x seems kind of low. it should be above 14V

i'll measure mine and let you know at what voltage mine is. give me a minute. i have a 99 civic vp with a d16y7.

Edit: Ok, mine is at 14.16 with the car just running and 14.09 with the headlights on.

if the alternator is not supplying enough voltage, there could be a number of problems associated with the electrical system of the car
