Default h23a1 head with F22B block

Okay I've been looking online and can only find info for a h23 head with f23 block. So I was thinking of using all my h23 stuff including, water pump, head gasket, and so on. I wanted to change my piston rings so should I just buy rings for a F22B1 block? Oh and please don't tell me to just get a h22 or something like that. thanks

I was contemplating on doing the H23/F23 hybrid. Low end torque and stroke from the F and greater tuning capabilities with the H. I was gonna go the H22/F23 route for the vtec aspect of it, but i'm not sure anymore. Plus, the H23 looks just like my B20. Same black crinkle paint on both. It would be a great motor to turbo. The F23 bottom end is pretty stout.

I belive from what I've read here on H-T that vtec model h22 cranks were balanced to allow higher reving.
The h23 crank is not balanced from what I've been told also. Knowing this, thats why I assume the f22 isn't balanced.

The H23 head can be installed on any Accord F-series block.

H22/23 waterpumps will not work on an F-Series blocks.

Use an F-series head gasket, not H-series.

The H23 crank is not cast and is drill balanced.

so what head gasket do I run? The F22B head gasket does not fit and the closest thing is the h23 gasket.

Monkey, that's harder and might require some epoxy to prevent an oil leak but it will bolt on.

Silencer. Use a HG that matches the make/model of the block.

piratemcfred the headgasket that matches the make/model of the block doesn't match up with the head. Its not even close.

I know WTF the gaskets look like. I know that they're different.

Just use an F-series SOHC gasket and put a little hondabond in one part of the H23A1 head and you'll be fine.

If you don't want to do it that way then get a custom gasket made or weld up that one recessin the H23 head so it will clamp the gasket on that one corner.

oh ok. So I won't have to cut the F series gasket so it fits perfectly with the cylinder head right? and one more question piratemcfred, do I use the h23 timing belt and oil pump? because I saw that you said that I use a F series water pump.
