On my '99 civic, the electric door locks will work if I use the switch on the door, but will not work with the keyless remote. I have replaced the battery in the remote and the fuse in the fuse box under the dash. The alarm wont set with the remote either.

Any ideas on whats going on?

 

did you by any chance put a aftermarket deck in it?

If aftermarket, make and model?

Aftermarket HU, [deck] makes no diff, it only applies to 96-98 Civics, 94

 

Yes, It has a Sony cd player.

No, it is the factory alarm system....

 

Was the alarm/door locks working after the Sony HU was installed?
I am asking not because the HU has anything to do with it other then something may have been disconnected during the install of the Sony HU.94

 

I bought the car with no motor, & just got it running. It dident have a radio in it when I bought it, but the keyless entry has never worked........

 

have you check to see if the factory alarm is pluged in. It the green plug above your right leg and the door lock control box in the driver kick pannel pluged in.

 

Nope, I havent checked. Ill go do that right now.
