this just started the other day, but i have about 150,000 miles on the trans with about 25,000 miles on the exedy stage one clutch. when i press my clutch pedal down i can usually feel pressure from when i start to press it all the way to the end. but the other day i noticed that there was no pressure until about half way then there was finally notable pressure. the trans still drives fine and grabs fine, but while switching between my 3rd, 4th, and 5th gears i noticed what sounds like loose metal pieces. it wasnt too loud but you could tell. then after doing some more driving on it, everything was back to normal, normal pressure, no noises. this has been coming and going. and so far its random. ive searched and concluded it was the release bearing as it does make a noise while the clutch pedal is pressed down and i am in between switching gears, but then why would it go away and function normally again?
sorry about the essay, just wanted to make it as clear and detailed as i could.
thanks for any input.

hmm... i guess i will take a stab at it, first check your fluid in master clutch cylinder resevoir, if it is low, that may be your problem, if it looks good, i'm guess MAYBE something is wrong with the pressure plate on the clutch... would explain metalic noises.
Did it help? Since it was pretty empty, start looking for leaks, probably at the slave cylinder or master cylinder. Hydraulic fluid doesn't just disappear.
