Ok, someone give me some advice
I'm about to trade my 91 crx for a 96 integra with a bad break booster. I'm wondering if it's a hard job or not. I've done heads on dsm's, axles, end links blah blah blah so i'm ok at turning a wrench... anyone have some advice for me?
Explain why the seller thinks it has a bad brake booster. I would guess that something else is up than just a bad brake booster...more info.
Ok, well I drove the car today... He just replaced the master, it looks like it too. I should have checked the fluid. Car runs and drives alright. I press the breaks and they are good, but have to pump them and eventually the go to the floor, just like if it was a bad master. It's a auto also... which from other threads i'm guessing isn't so good.. but it shifted alright... a little hard but it didn't act up. I drove it kinda hard too.

Just throwing this out there...look under the car for bad/poorly fixed brake lines. to be honest I have never seen a bad brake booster on these types of Hondas. I have however see plenty of rusted out brake lines especially in the NE. Good luck!
No one can tell me if this is a hard job or not? Is it worth the trade? I think it is, but I wanna see if it's gonna be a hard job or not... Thanks to those who replay
if it was the brake booster itd be complete opposit most likley, pedeal would be seriously hard as hell to push in, just from my experiance
Yeah, I just go off the phone with my brother and said the same thing... He told me to look over the lines and check out the break fluid. Then I remember the guy trading me the car said he just did the master... I'm starting to think maybe he just didn't bench blead the m/c... Any ideas on that?
I was going to say there is probably air in the lines the whole time. If it isn't something obvious like a leaking brake line. When the master cylinder is replaced sometimes it takes a while to get all the air out.
Could just be a bad prop valve, ask the guy what all did he removed? and check all brake lines, and bleeder valves on the calipers...It could be a challange but not hard...I love working on brakes.
Well... alright, with everything that was said above... would you trade or not? Knowing that there is a problem with the breaks, is it a good trade or not? I'm starting to lean twards no since my car is aok... what would you poeple do?

There's a way to find out if its the brake booster. While the key is in the "off" position, press on the brakes, there should be a hell of a lot of pressure on the pedal. Turn the key to the "on" position but don't start it, then the pedal should be easy to push in like normal driving conditions, but if it doesn't, then yes, it is the booster. (I read this on TI)
To tell if its the MC, while the key is "off" press on the pedal, if it slowly presses all the way down, then you have a bad MC.
I would personally get the teg over the crx, I don't know why you guys are saying that they are so rare when I see them all the time in craigslist, don't know, might just be like that here in the west coast. But I just prefer the teg over the crx, especially if you have a kid. I would imagine the BB to be an easy fix, just like changing the MC.
