Fixed RACK CREAK! new problem
hey guys, need help, anyone leading to a fix or anyone that helps me fix it ill pay if needed. Please guys, i dont work out enough to drive everyday with no power steering! haha
Just got done relubing my rack using this guide on ephatch, its pretty much a cheap fix that takes about an hour of labor for even a noob like me to do. but encountered another problem when i got done.
http://www.ephatch.com/forum/showthread.php?t=65227

I did the left side first, then the right, but to do the right side i had to unplug the 2 plugs that were in the way(Im guessing the eps plugs????)after I got done, My eps light came on, and no power steering. Could it be the eps fuse being blown because i either unplugged it while the battery was still connected, or would it just be something like resetting the ecu or what? I looked at the fuse and its a yellow 60w fuse that has to be screwed in and out to be removed/put back in.
The fuse didnt look blown to my eyes, but i wasnt really sure what id been looking at as fuses i usually replace look a bit different. Do I have to go to a honda dealer to get a new eps fuse(if its the issue?)
Anyone, please help :"(

An answer to this would be awesome, have been annoyed by the creak of the steering rack for a year now. Only happens after I drive for a while, or run over a couple of speeds bumps.

its really not hard at all man, you simply cut the metal clamp on the drive side of the rack, pull back the rubber on the driver side and throw a ton of bearing grease in there. I believe i may have blow a fuse because my hands were greasy and handling with wiring. Not a good idea. So basically, I either blew a fuse or my eps motor is bad, either way, IM ENJOYING NO CREAK. after a year of living with it haha

Hopefully the problem is the ECU. I was told it has to be reset because of the involvment with plugging/unplugging the eps cables while the battery was disconnected and it may be shooting an error. Anyone disagree?
Have you taken a test light to the fuse (it should light up on both sides, with the key in the run position)? Have you check for resistance in the fuse (with the fuse out and an ohmmeter lead hooked to each side, you should read 0 ohms)? Have you even pulled the fuse? What about double checking the connector to make sure the contacts inside are clean, non corroded, and lined up?
