So, when i'm driving my car and it seems like its after 4grand (4000 rpms) it just revs all the way past redline until the rpm needle can't go anymore.
Its as if i'm in neutral and just hold my foot down on the gas peddle or i'm in gear and have my foot on the clutch and hold my foot down on the gas peddle. but the only difference is that its not stopping at the rev-limiter when it happens it goes past it and i have to turn my car off and pound my gas peddle and its fixed but sometimes it doesn't work.
i thought it would be the throttle cable but its not. my next thing that i'm going to check when i get the chance is the buttefly inside the throttle body. any suggestions?
thanks in advance

are you pressing on the throttle when its revving up, or does it do it on its own? It seems like some weird electrical thing to me. I'm assuming the clutch and tranny are good (your accelerating like blazes while the revs go up) Gl, just some ideas....
take off the intake and check the throttle body flapper, and check the cable it has to be in there somewhere. You will probably need a friend to help you though to press the pedal. Just a stupid question but the car is actually revving not just the tach is moving right?

the main idea i thought of was something electrical but no idea what? or how to even trouble shoot or find the issue! yup they're both good!

Thats really interesting so the car revs but doesnt go faster similar to a clutch slip, so is the clutch slipping? But that wouldnt explain why the pedal gets stuck, I had some aftermarket pedals get stuck on the carpet but easy to see.
So just to make sure you checked
- throttle cable
- throttle body
- is there anything else irregular on the car happening before after while?
Being that you are using a cable throttle control there really isnt much to it,
your foot, pedal, cable, throttle body, butterfly.
Have you done anything to the car recently at all?
Thanks on the dyno but it could always get better, now the car is for sale.

Problem solved!!
thanks everyone that took the time to help!
fyi it was this stupid piece that goes over the throttle body so the intake tube will fit. some how it got into the throttle body like it got bent inward and when the butterfly opened enough it got caught in it! damn if that would of went past my butterfly that would have been exxxpensive and i would of been pissed.
