They'll always look okay on black cars.

I had 16x7 Spoon rims as my daily drivers for years and years. Everybody always thought they looked good, even when they were choked with brake dust and turning green from the heat cycles.

It's not a big deal under almost all situations.

If you worry about unsprung weight, it matters.

We used to act like Spoon wheels were indestructible, but in my original set, two of them eventually broke from the stress of being daily driven for about 125,000 miles and almost incalculable miles at Summit Point and VIR.

Both breaks were clean down the centre of one of the spokes.

A&J Racing in British Columbia made good.

I think they're still on Victor's JDM white '97.

Hmm, how do they look? Like fake wheels on an ITR. lol, just kidding. They look good. To answer guys ? above "what is wrong with rota's", they are knock-offs. What is wrong with a knock-off? It is a copy of an original, which selling that product takes money away from the original company.

I think they look great. I'm also one who doesn't see what the big deal is about rock'n a set of Rota's on an OTR. 6-7 years ago that was a real hot wheel to have. I like the Rota Grid's myself, they look like the Volk TE37. I like your caR with the Slips'.

For real man I almost bought a set of those back in 2001 but someone else got to them before me. I'm still on the stock ITR wheels that I will never get rid of but sometime down the road I just might run across a set of Rota's I can't refuse. I'll probably get flamed for putting them on an R but who cares. If I worried about that all the time I'd go crazy.
All you need now is one of those big aluminum touring wings. J/K!

I doubt that the people who spend $450 for Rotas are the same people who spend $1800 for Desmond or Spoon wheels.

I understand what you mean. Imitation wheels don't duplicate the functionality of the original, really, do they? It's another matter with an imitation header that gives the exact same performance.

But, even then, if nobody gets a copyright of patent, what can you do?

I had 16x7 Spoons on my ITR for the longest time, but I also had 16x7 Rotas on my EP3 Si.

I got my wife's engagement ring out of a bubble gum machine.J/K

Someone one this board flamed the crap out of me for just the thought of buying a Hytech copy-cat header rather than the real thing. We all have different veiws and opinions but I just can't see (for myself) spending the cash for a Hytech header especially when I'm not that much of a hard core racer.
Spoon, Volk, Racing Hart, Kosie, Axxis,......they are all fantastic products, If thats what you really have your heart set on then gett'm and enjoy them.

First car an ITR?!!! Wow, the both of you are ruined for life. Nothing will ever measure up to the R. Not my 1st car but it was my 1st "new" car. I'm still spoiled and thats been 8 years ago.
