sohc ecu running dohc
i have a ecu (the stickers arent on it anymore but there is a number stamped on the board that says 02d01720-1500). this is for a obd1 d series sohc engine (correct me if im wrong).
im going to be running a b18c1 with boost. will this board work (after chipping and vtec conversion kit) for my motor, even though its a DOHC engine? also will i be able to hook up a boost solenoid to it to work with ECtune? thanks, sorry if this has been asked already. new to the ecu tuning area and coudlnt find anything on search.

If it's a VTEC capable ECU (The number you gave is not ECU specific, and even the ECU number doesn't matter much anymore since ECUs are converted all the time), you'll be fine. Look for the sticker on the side that says Pxx-xxx. Ex. P28-A01
would have done that only the sticker in unreadable, got a little scratched up. any other way to tell what ecu it is? i know its obd1 because of the plug in the back, thats it though.
USDM P28-L50 92-95 D16Z6 SOHC Vtec AT, 66207, 02D01720-1500, California, actually P30 code (!)
It's a p28 so you can chip it with a basemap for your GSR with boost. However you will have to convert it to a 5 speed ECU since it's for an Auto.

No, there's other ECUs that have that part number stamped on them. That is the family of board it uses, used by more than one specific ECU type.
You can look at the processor chip, labeled 66207. It will have a three digit number on it. For example where you see 229 in this photo.

When you get that number check this list for the same ID.
