Default vtec

ok so I was driving home today and the car has been runnung fine, to my surprise. well i was in third gear and when my vtec engaged the car bogged down. It got really slow and I was wondering what i could check. i recently started to use 93 octane in the car but heard it could be the fuel pressure. Have checked the oil and everything is fine. just took off the vtec soleinoid and everything looked fine. any suggestions.

I don't have any CEL's and yeah I just started using 93 gas but I don't think that is the problem. I took the car for a drive after it cooled down and when I got into high rpm's around 6 grand the car started to bogg down and lose acceleration. I had the pedal to the floor and the car wasn't accelerating like it should. It sounded like I had a BOV when I shifted and I'm not boosted.
