maybe somebody can help me out.

when i'm driving and downshift to 2nd or 3rd my transmission makes a weird noise, like a bearing is slipping or winding up or something until i accelerate. it only happens in those two gears.. it's kind of a whining noise. it doesn't make any strange noises while idling or accelerating. i know this is kind of vague but it's really hard to explain the noise. maybe i need to put some fluids in it or something??

the transmission is a - s20

 

replace throw out bearing

 

also, occasionally it won't make the noise.

 

 

just replace it man.. and make sure you grease the hell out of it when you put it on

 

Change the fluid first to see if it helps. Honda MTF

 

oopps.. forget to mention that.. hahah yeah drain your fluid or check to make sure its up to level before you take your tranny apart because its a pain in the ***!
