Can I get this color so I can shoot it at home... and what is tricoat/clearcoat?

its a 3 parts system instead of a 2 part. You have a base color a mid color and a clear

You could buy from paintscratch.com, that's where I plan to get my paint from, they will mix oem colors

 

ya a paint shop will know its a tri-stage from the code

LMK if you need to borrow a couple of paint guns. I have 1.8 and 1.4 tip guns which I used to paint the YZF.

About that link - he's got the 2-part formula which may not be what you want.

Don't forget about the reducer. Make sure it's fresh and I prefer to use the same brand as the paint I'm shooting.

I turned out pretty good. It's a lot of prep work and my technique isn't perfect so I spent a lot of time wet sanding the clear. I'm about to finish it off by painting the main fairing since I finally finished the headlight brackets and cutting the holes.

 

I suggest painting all parts at the same time to avoid shading problems. Pressures can be off tip adjustments etc. This will change the final color outcome. Never paint parts at diff times if all possible. Shoot everything the same day same time with the same mixture.

 

the milano red can be sprayed as a two part system i forget who makes it i think its nason looks the same side by side.

 

Thanks, i need to take a closer look. I only need a small trim part done, but if its to involved I may do a second entire front end(bumper and trim) as a back up to my original units

There are alot of variances to this color. From a regular base and clear to a tri-stage. I have seen it done both ways
