i would like to know if anyone can identify this ecu by this pic. there is no sticker on the casing of this ecu and it is chipped. thanks in advanced. (you can click on the image for a larger view)

 

cant tell from that pic. i need a pic of the codes on the side of it. probably a chipped p28

 

looks to me like a a po6 chipped for vtec or p28
its not a b series ecu though it has no eprom board on top.

 

Are you talking about the side of the casing because there are no codes. the sticker was removed. i am thinking its a P28 chipped too, but i wanted to see if anyone knew for sure which ecu it is.

 

well we cant tell buy looking at a **** load of solders. Why where is it comming from? i wouldn't want it because it can be any ecu.

 

previous owner left it in a shell that i just got about a month ago and i dont have his number anymore.

 

ill bet its a p28. if so keep it.

 

it very well could be a p06 chipped to a p28 for vtec cause i have a p06 chipped for vtec and it looks just like that but i no longer use i have a p30 now

 

all ecus i ever seen look the same on the inside.

 

It's a VTEC ECU, because if I zoom in I can see the VTEC parts, especially the transistor or whatever it's called on IC14. Probably a P28.

They don't, you probably just didn't notice the subtle differences.

My guess would be p28 since like stated above, the vtec stuff is all there factory...

 

its a oem vtec ecu it was not converted, its also automatic.. id say p28

 

its def not an automatic cause i ran it on my 5spd an not cel came.

 

X2, the PCB number matches up with a P28 board too.

Its an automatic ECU, I can see the components on the board, someone probably just converted it, all it takes is removing RP17 and RP18 (located directly under the chip) and replacing RP18 with a jumper wire.

 

yes it is or was a auto i can see that for sure but the pic is to blurry to tell if its been made a manual

 

That looks like a P05 board to me. Just look at the board number its stamped 1720.

 

it cant be a p05 cause i compared it with one that i have it it doesnt match up. sounds like its a p28. also for furture refrences, what do i look for on an ecu that tells me it it for a vtec by looking at the board?
