Is anyone using a Maganflow oval muffler? Not the fart can one, but the actual oval one that looks like a stock muffler. What's the sound like? My friend has a brand new one that he's offering to me for $20. I just don't want to go through the hassle of chopping off my stock one, welding it on and possibly not liking it. Thanks guys.
dont do it. u will be considered a ricer. not only that but that muffler is gay. just get a real cat back for like 250 on ebay if ur goin cheep. spending 20 bucks to be made fun of isnt worth it. like if u do anything to an exhaust do it right or ull be mad at urself.

So this is a fart can? Right...

I'm going to making a custom 2.25" from the cat back, I don't need to be buying that eBay junk, and Magaflow isn't "ricer" stuff. But whatever floats your boat, thanks for your help.

i just dnt see a point in putting it on. its not goin to give u 200 hp. all its goin to do is make noise so YES it is a fart can. how much hp are u really goin to get with that?
i have the same one on my built gsr and its quite as hell and its a flow threw muffler..on top of that it looks stock so no huge fart can tip sticking out the back....i would do it in a heartbeat..

To the OP, I used to have one just like it and it sounded good. If it's $20 then get it.
Definitely pick it up for $20. I paid $60 brand new for my Magnaflow Oval and I love it. Perfect volume, nice pitch. Of course, I have a full exhaust too.
so buying a mugen axleback muffler is "ricer"? its not a cat back, its an axleback exhaust. LOL. you think you going to get mad hp from stock exhaust piping connected to a mugen muffler?
this is the most, assonine, random ignorant thread ever. its your car, do as you like, i once had one of those, and it made my car sound amazing. btW: buying **** off ebay makes you a ricer.

I know it's my car, that's not the point. I wanted to know what the muffler sounds like so I don't have to go hacking up my muffler/axel back only to find out it sounds like ***.
You won't regret it at all with the oval Magnaflow muffler. It sounds much better than most oval shaped performance mufflers out there, and the sound is very tolerable for a DD. Here are the sound clips from Magnaflow themselves. I hope this helps.

Dynomax Super Turbo mufflers are also good alternatives to the Magnaflow muffler. I am running a magnaflow muffler using my RS*R catback exhaust and it sounds okay.
I say go for it. As said before, as long as you have a good resonator it won't sound like butthole. Don't just hack the stock one, have a full cat back made and you will have the same performance as most cat backs that cost twice as much.
SHOKLID, STFU. Telling him he is a ricer, when you say to go EBay?

i love the sound, but i'm also turbo running 3" all the way back into this muffler with a summit 18" glasspack in the B pipe, no specific exhaust, all welded up by me using mandrel bends.
not so sure how it would sound on an otherwise stock exhaust. here's a clip of it at the track, but i think all you can really hear is my wastegate dumped to atmosphere.
