Default High compression on stock ECU???

Hey guys. I ordered a H22 long block from hmotorsonline. Steve called me and said that the motor he is shipping me has a ported head and possibly cams. He also said the the compression test came back at 285 across all cyls. Now from what I know this is not stock compression ratio.

So my question is will I be able to run a motor like this on a stock p13 ECU. I know i have next to no details on the motor but hopefully you guys can give me some advice.

I do plan on getting the new demon to go in my chipped p28 along with a wideband but dont have the money right now.

I've never tuned either but have a pretty good grasp on the whole thing. Im just not sure about messing with ignition timing.

I have every intention of getting it tuned. I was hoping someone could tell me if it will be SAFE to run on a stock ecu.

Don't beat on it until you get it tuned.

Damn thats not what i wanted to hear. I guess I need to bite the bullet and order the demon and a wideband. I have no idea how to tune ignition timing tho.

I guess I'll wait until I actually get the motor and see whats up then. What are the limits on modifcation/compression that a stock ecu can handle reliably?

Thanks!!!!

ohh and btw HR, your myspace needs work.

Well the motor arrived at the shop. I havent looked at it yet. Is there an easy way to tell compression ratio etc?

Also does anyone else have an opinion on running high compression safely on a stock ecu. I also have a p28 from phearable but I imagine that would be worse than a stock jdm P13.

Well the motor is in and running. It feels strong and I dont think its stock. Its making alot of vibration into the chassi but I think its b/c the mounts werent tq'ed down right.

The head is noisy as hell. I talked to steve at hmotors and he says he thinks it has some headwork/cams. I have heard that noise comes along with the upgraded valvetrain but I want to do a valve lash adjustment to be sure. Should I set it to stock specs or should they be set differently?

I just ordered a LC-1 and Im looking into tuning software. I do plan on going with the new demon, im just not sure what software to go with.

Ok I'm not sure why no one is replying.

I just wanted to mention that I think it has a stock bottom end. If it just has cams will running a stock ecu damage the motor.
