Well i bought my HID headlights a while ago.. and i jsut got around to installing them... what i did was spliced the wires to my OEM wires..low beam, high beam etc... i go to turn them on everything works as should except the Driver Side HID blinks fast then cuts out but my pass side Stays on...? any idea on what this could be?? or how i can go about diagnosing this problem?? i searched and found similar topics but non are converted like mine do i need the "relay harness"?? any help appreciated d'oh! and if its a ballast is there anywhere i can send it to get repaired or a DIY? thanks in advance!

 

Of course you need a relay harness, your stock wires can't take that much power from the hid ballasts

 

well ive tried the headlight on my jump start pack by running the pos and neg to the Low beam (H.I.D.) and ground..and the same thing happens it blinks then cuts out? so it must be my ballast no?

 

Yes it can be possibly the ballast if it's like that, or it can be your bulbs.
Try switching blubs and if the same thing happens it's the ballast.

Get a relay harness after when your done solving that problem.

 

sounds like it can either be the bulb or the ballast, to check take out the bulb, and look in the center, if the globe is black its the bulb, but ifs its smokey its the ballast, or just switch the bulb to the other side.
