motor wont rev past 4k rpms..not exactly sure why..i was told it could be the timing,tps, or a bad ground..its still drives just cant take it past 4k rpms..any ideas of what it could be???

 

check your spark plugs.

spark plug wires.

i've been told it could be a clogged cat?

 

How well does it run otherwise? Normally? Is it throwing any codes? There's obviously SOMETHING wrong with it...

 

check your plugs, wires, cap,and rotor. Your running on limp mode, so also unplug your battery for about 10mins and try it again

 

it has new plugs wires cap and rotor....and yeah it runs fine other then not reving past 4k...i still gotta check the codes

 

Start with the codes because they'll TELL you what's wrong with it. What kind of mods are on the car?

i hear that. do some searching, because it's easy as hell and takes about 15 mins. you could also go to kragen where they'll plug in the code reader for free.

bone stock ls integra's won't rev past 4500-5000 rpm's. depending on the gear. new fuel filter, new fuel line from filter, new rings all New bearings. engine completely rebuilt. oh and sometimes when you come to a stop it trys to stall. any ideas?

 

Once you get the codes that your car is throwing, the answer you will get will be a bit more specific

 

mine is doing same thing just no codes at all.

my buddys civic does the same thing and its his dizzy. just a suggestion.

That's one way to solve your problem. What happened to it??

 

Yes, it sound like your in limp mode....Check your codes, and fix the promblem, then rest ECU, and check to see if continues, if it does, there is another issue. Report back, or post your codes, for more ideas.

 

Check your thermostat housing...if you bounce at 4000 4500 with a flashing code you have a ground that is not fully connected...make sure that you thermostat housing is bolted down good and the ground for the coolant temperature sensor is connected and secured...
