Default Water Passage Removal

I am trying to remove the water passage on a 2003 Honda Pilot. I have everything removed but the freakn thing wont come off. It is clearly loose -- but it feels like the connector pipe behind the cooling passage is holding it. I can slightly twist the pipe but it won't come out. I am afraid I might break something if I just yank on it.... is there a trick?

Thanks,
Mike
