i have a slight back in forth motion pushing in on the wheel and pulling back out on the front left wheel of my teg... Im pretty sure its a wheel bearing... Was just curious to how long it will take to replace the wheel bearing?? Im going to take it into school and do it but i need a estimated time...

 

well the way your describing it...i sounds like a tie rod. might be the inner onend those have to be done professionaly. the wheel bearing makes a loud humming noise when driving and gets slower when you slow down.

 

If you hold the wheel at 12 and 6 o'clock positions and are able to rock it, wheel bearing is bad. Once you have the knuckle off, changing the bearing is simply pressing the old one out and the new one in.

 

Rock it how?

 

If you push the top of the wheel in and the bottom out, and vice versa.

thanks guys. It was a wheel bearing like i said...but i pressed old one out and new one in today at school...inner tie rod was fine...
