Why is my car stalling?
Well Lastnight I was driving my car on the highway but for some reason it wouldn't let me go over 70mph. Every time I increase my speed on the highway my car starts to stall and shake. The Check Engine Light comes on(it goes away after I slow down). What causes this problem ? FYI I have a 2001 civic LX.
Note. I took it to honda and they said I needed my spark plugs changed. I changed it and it still stalls when I speed up on the highway.

sounds like either fuel or ignition... maybe your timing is off from a loose distributor bolt? check your distributor cap/rotor/coil... check your fuses too...
I have had bad TDC sensors that produce the same symptoms, the sensor thats bolted to the head that reads off the cam gear. All the cars i replaced them on had the same characteristics......
Start okay, once warm won't rev up, won't do much more than 50 and will stall and hard to restart. But will usually give a code for the sensor.

pretty much it's your crank shaft position sensor (CKP sensor) it's by your timing belt. i'm pretty sure it's that. my car did that too. cel came on. checked it and it was my ckp sensor. maybe your belt might be rubbing against your cover that's why it might be your ckp sensor.
