Default quesion for those with JRSC

does anyone have a problem with belts falling off?

i have this problem quite frequently.

anyone ever try calling JRSC and asking them about there supercharger pulley? there is no wall rail hold the pully in place. anyone ever try to custom build one?

i called them and they said no one with a ITR and JRSC run into this problem. idk. im trying to get a machine shop that my car shop knows to make me a custom pulley for a little more psi and rails on the pulley so my belt doesnt slip off.

should i do this yes or no?

thanks

Read the JRSC thread..
I think it has to do with alignments of the pulleys...

i thought there were aftermarket pulleys with the "shoulders" that keep the belt in place. instead of the jr pulley thats flat apart.

yeah we checked the alignment and everything looks fine. idk i guess ill have them fabricate some newer smaller pulleys with the shouler to prevent slip and see if we can get a little more power.

Jackson racing was no help when i talked to them. they just said it shouldnt happen. we have never had this happen with a type R

Maybe they sent you the wrong belt?

My pulley alignment was actually perfect when I checked. I used all the JR hardware. I replaced my original belt with (I think) a slightly smaller one. After a couple tries with different sizes I ended up using a 25 inch (635mm) belt and I was in good shape. Make sure you tension it properly and everything is installed properly and you should be good.

I'm using 5 lbs of boost and slipping isn't a problem at all. I could see with more boost maybe having a problem but just recheck everything, maybe you made a silly mistake. I can't count the number of times I wanted to beat myself in the head with a hammer for doing something stupid 8)

Where are you getting your belts at? I noticed when I used to have my ITR SC'd some of your cheaper belts (i.e. AutoZone) tend not to set deep enough into the grooves of the pulleys. I always used Gates belts and never had problems. Just a guess.

Motorvations Motorsports (MVM) makes a good pulley. The edges are raised to keep the belt in place, and its been said that this pulley is better than the endyn one because it doesnt shred belts.

unfortunately, i cant find their website...

I called MVM and he had nothing for the D16y8 JRSC. It's funny I haven't been on H-T in awhile and searched to see if there is any new info on belt probs. Well LOLz I can see there is still problems. Mine might be from a bolt that broke on the idler pulley bracket.
Is there a sure fire way to check if pulleys are straight or a tool of some sorts? Good Luck on the belt you'll need it!! I would also be interested in a place that can fab a custom pulley with edges. If you find one in cali let me know peeps.

Peace
