Default So when do you use / not use Nitrous?

My friend just got a 50 shot hooked up in his h/b (one in my sig).
Anyhow, the guy who hooked it up said NEVER to spray in first and fifth gear and he should be at least at 5k rpm's.
Any other things to take into consideration when spraying?

What are the advantages / disadvantages of not having a button to have the N20 kick in? >>> His comes on after he flips the switch and then when the accelerator is floored the N20 is sent through the motor!

Thanks for any input!

at least 5000 rpm is kinda high for me in my auto integra i sprayed in 1st gear all the time but...i'm also stupid. i would say after 3000-3500 you should be able to spray.

and if you do spray in first you probbaly won't get traction.
they say not to spray in fifth because it's your weakest gear(not sure about this one can someone confirm)

if you really want a push button wire a button inline with the switch so to complete the circuit the button has to be pushed.
i really don't see any dis advantages or advantages to either but that's just my opinion. i think they are the same either way.

well hope i helped. Have fun but don't go crazy and spray after everylight or you'll blow a headgasket like me...

I spray in 1st with my h22a, because I have the NX progressive controller, so small amounts go in at first. But I was told to stay above 3000rpm when I spray.

Definitely above 3k rpms when there is sufficient oil and fuel pressure. As for not spraying in 5th, is because the "tall" gearing will put a big strain on your motor, which combined with nitrous, can break stuff. Plus, if you aren't winning by 5th gear, there's no point in spraying @ 110mph+.

I say a microswitch that's activated at WOT would be the safest way to spray. There's no chance of you hitting it at partial throttle, which you can with a push button activation system.
