Icon2 What would it take

heres my idea.
I want to take a set of twm itb's and basicaly weld a 3" pipe on top then cap 1 side so i can boost on itbs. Has any one ever done this. if so any pics.

Collectors over ITB's are not a new theory. I do recall seeing threads with this topic before.



PS. Just curious, what's the probability of you putting this theory into production? Being that you're 19 years old, I'm guessing slim to none, but there are a few exceptions to the trend.

i wouldn't under estimate the youth of today. that is where the majority of innovation is coming from.

I might be 19 but im in the military so i have a steady paycheck and i am very mechanicaly inclined. Im just about to finish my 84mm b16 (which i sleeved myself) and am about to start a dart 2.0 monster which i will be putting into a 91 crx hf converted to rwd. Ill be starting in about 6 months so be on the lookout for my build thread.

I don't doubt creative potential. I'm just interested in the feasibility and practicality. I can recall some rather ludicrous dreams from my youth, that never reached fruition.

why wouldnt you just seal it from the air horns like everyone else that has already boosted with itbs. ?

make yourself a aluminum box with the matching flanges on the twms.

this is exactly what they do with the scca cars that look like midget f1 cars, the forumula atlantic cars i guess are what they are called. they seem to work, especially when tuned by arnie loyning

Thats kinda what im planning on doing but i was gona cut the bottom off the pipe to make a D shape for better air flow. Also wondering about any ideas on runnina a 3-5 bar map sensor.

kinda old technology.. the older + newer M3's came with ITB's and an intake manifold.

I've never understood the point of the remote injectors. Can someone explain?

That's usually how it's done. You could get really hardcore and MAP sensor each cylinder
