need HELP with my 5 lug swap!!
Ok heres my issue, Im doing this supposed USDM 5 lug type r swap on my usdm 95 integra. I only had 1 of the 5 lug trailing arms complete and the other arm was bent all to hell. So i said whatever, i will swap 1 of the trailing arms completely, and just swap the hub from the arm that was all bent up. The side with the full arm went smoothly, now on the other side just swapping the hub, it seems as if the usdm gsr hub is way deeper than the shallow type r one. now I cant bolt the 32mm nut all the way down, it maybe has 4 or 5 threads and thats as tight as she goes. Do i need to order some other hub bearing or what am i doing wrong here? I was under the impression that this would be a direct swap. any help appreciated

The track width for DC2 Type R is 5mm (correct me if the number is wrong) wider on each side. That is why you can't safely just buy rear Type R hubs and bolt them onto your non Type R spindles. The spindle itself is 5mm longer which is why you're only getting 4 or 5 threads on, not enough to key in the lock on the spindle nut.
Acura do not just sell the spindle itself. The only way to get the part is to buy the whole rear trailing arm with the spindle which I believe is about $225 with no hub or caliper.

there is no other option? It seems like I have heard a bunch of rumors of how the rear was so "easy" just swap the hubs, it dosent work like that.
I dont understand why you are confused? Get a type r spindle or complete trailing arm or go back to 4x100. Having your rear hub held on by 3 threads is not a decent option.
well the reason i am confused is because, I have always heard of people JUST replacing the rear hub and this is totally not right. I really dont feel like spending an extra 200 bucks, but it looks as if I will have to. Sorry buddy, was just looking for other options, hell if the bearing pressesd out of the 4lug hub and into the 5 lug hub, that would work and possibly save 200 bucks.
I under stand, I didnt mean it like that. Some people run the type r hub on the 4x100 spindle just like what you have there with no washer. Thats what they are talking about, if you do that your are a fool.

93-02 mazda protege axle nut without the acura washer. i dont have the mazda axle nut in hand but how could it hurt? worst that could happen would be a vibration leading to a bad wheel bearing.

if the bearing starts to pile up with no washer it will loosen or tighten the nut, that washer is there for a reason, so are a full set of threads. What side do you need?
for everyone that gives a hoot, i got the 626 axle nut and it worked great. I have been rolling this way for a few weeks with no probs. I have a lot of road noise coming from the rear, maybe the es100's are just loud?
