Default Backed into my wife's car

Backed out of the garage today and creamed the back of my pristine 20k mile Blk ITR. Jeep, no damage, my car $1700 worth. New trunk and the panel above the bumper + paint. SHHHHHHHHIIIIT. I am so pissed. New trunk is $700.00 He said he'll check to see if he can get a used one for me. Any thoughts or suggestions. I put a big sticker on my dash that says " look behind you" I'm also thinking of backing my car into the garage. Does anyone on the board have juice with a parts dept.

I always back into my garage. First, driving up to my house provides a good opportunity to look for obstructions and kids before backing in, and I'm always more alert coming home than I am in the morning leaving for work.

I have the rear hatch off the wrecked 2000 PY ITR I bought last year... I'm in Utah, and you can have it for cheap if you want it. It's of no use to me for my EK!

I backed into her car because I'm an efn moron. What happened was her car is always in the garage next to mine, but the garage is loaded with **** and therefore its been parked outside. So I'm backing out and looking to the left to make sure I clear the garbage can, by the time I clear the garbage can and get ready to turn the wheel I get that sickening crunching sound and the jolt. What the **** was that? **** forgot that her car was there. I'm ready to do myself in. Think about all the stuff you can get for $1700.
Anyway, T thanks for the offer, what shape is it in and how much?

Should have been the other way around. Isn't the general stereotype consensus about how women can't drive?

Dude, make the best of a bad thing.... I am in the middle of a similar problem: This kid hit my 2001 ITR in the rear, passenger side bumper. Luckily, no sheet metal was damaged but the bumper cover and mud guard were trashed. So, what do I do ?? Use the insurance money to replace the bumper with a new OEM part (obviously) and instead of mud guards, use the cash for an OEM body kit ... My total investment after the insurance payoff ?? $37.00 and my car is being returned to me in just-as-pristine condition as it was PLUS a totally cool body kit ....

As if the car didn't go through enough with the jeep.

Think of it this way, you are lucky it was just your wifes car, and not your neighbor's kid that you ran over. Seriously, if your backing out and not looking where your going, you can hit , or run over anything. Stranger things have happened. So again, it could be a lot worse.. The car can be fixed..

I do have some pull with the local Honda/Acura parts department - if you can email me a list, I'll see what kind of prices I can get!
