B17 Rebuild, Clearances??
Alright alright, before I delve into my post, yes, I do have the Acura Manual for my DA and I do know what engine (bearings/etc.) clearances Honda calls for with my motor, but I want to know if anyone prefers to run the clearances a little tighter that Honda calls for and why?? I would think that you could run just a tad tighter, but with thermal expansion, does it make sense?? I don't want clearances that are too tight at normal operating temperature. I guess I kind of answered my own question, I guess I should stick with the tighter end of the clearances that Honda gives to be within spec. Thanks
*Out with the tired B17 (compression in cyls 1-4: 88, 82 72, 115!!), In with the rebuilt B17 (spare block, fitted with micropolished/chamfered/balanced crank, reconditioned rods, new bearings, new oil pump, new gaskets, new rs machined ITR/CTR pistons. yields approximately 11:1 CR) Revamped cylinder head (decked, cleaned, valves adjusted, ITR/CTR cams, cam gears, Header, port matched Intake Manifold). My guess is 180 WHP using RSR cat-back.
Then the Old Tired B17 gets rebuilt, and to the max!! Sleeved to 84-85mm, 12.5:1-13:1 CR with forged pistons/rods, port&polish, toda vtec killer cams, tuned using E85 (maybe!!)
Shooting for 240 WHP
Yes, I know, it might sound like all talk, but I got half the parts for the first build so far.

interesting about todausa
and good luck with the build, sounds like you have high expectations. not sure if you knew this but them oem cranks come micro polished and balanced very well. just a heads up. most important is to check them for straightness and thoroughly clean the oil passages.
