Clicking/grinding from front driver's side wheel
I know that the first thing everybody is thinking is bad CV, get a new axle. Not the case here. It was doing this with the OEM axle and now that I have brand new ones from raxles, it's still doing it. The sound only shows up when giving it gas or letting off it. It's not a CV issue, see reasoning above.
The other day I jack the front of the car up, put it in gear and try to duplicate the sound. When I try to spin the wheel by hand (gotta crank on it pretty good) it'll make the grinding sound (probably about 3 or 4 metal on metal grinding kinda clicks). Then if I turn the wheel the other way (reverse) it'll do it again, etc.
What could this be? I'm leaning towards a bad wheel bearing. The funny thing is that there's no grinding or vibration when the car is actually moving. It'll only make that popping/grinding sound when giving it gas or when letting off. Any time power comes or goes from the wheels I guess.

I have used Raxles before and the make a great product. Therefore, the axle is ruled out in my mind also.
Make sure that sound is not being made by anything in the brake assembly.
Beside that, the only other moving part in that area related to the axle rotating is the wheel bearing.

Well, wheel bearings it is. Going out to buy a pair. Might as well do the passenger side too since I'm at it. Guess those turbo days were a bit rough on them. Only have 60k miles on this EM1 too.
