Shift Points and clicking - 99 Accord LX A/T
This is prob a silly question. Today I put the car through it's paces after installing the Jet, Intake, fixing EGR and evap valve issues and poking with it here and there. Most of the time the car feels good, nothing super special until I get done with the H22 head on my old f23a block, but good enough for now. The only things I've noticed is
1. "Clicking" around 4500rpm while under load accelerating up a hill to highway speed - prob simply requires a valve adjustment that I'll do tomorrow. True?
2. The shifting seems laggy at times / doesn't make much power in lower rpms while mainly accelerating up hill on the highway to highway speeds. It just sound like it's struggling to much and doesn't sound smooth. Maybe this is normal before the v-tech kicks. Once the v-tech kicks in the car begins to make a noticeable amount of additional smooth power. While at speed, if I'm cruising at around 75 or so and punch the gas, the engine will get louder but it doesn't seem to downshift.
With that crap said, I should add that (i'm a cheap bastage) I've had bf goodrich scorchers z rated tires on a previous vehicle that are of the size 205 40r 17. From what I understand, I should have 205 50 r17 to be the correct height. Could this tire size be effecting the performance that much? Like I said, it's prob a silly question since I know that when I'm going 75 the speedometer is reading 85, or 80 reads 90 and so on. This means the engine is over revving. Well, any opinions would be great. Depending upon whats said, I'll prob just go out, bite the bullet and get new tires.
Thanks

I don't know yet for sure if I fixed the clicking sound but I adjusted the valves today. I'll be taking the car out later for a test.
The car still does feel like it's bogged down sometimes especially going up a hill from a stop. Is this normal? Is the clicking normal?

I think I've repaired the clicking sound by adjusting the valves. The car does still feel a little "laggy" while accelerating specifically up hill. It sounds slightly like it's struggling. If I press the gas to make it down shift and raise the RPM up to around where the v-tech kicks in I moves smoothly. I hate doing this because I feel like I'm beating on it. I want to perfect this car and baby it because in general it's been great to me. Does anyone have the same laggy type issue? Is there a youtube vid or something that I could watch the see if it's around the same issue? People have videos about simply engine knock on there.
