Rare JDM Civic variant 97 Rover 400
Stumbled upon a rare Civic variant that is in Japan. As we all know Honda has been "in bed" several times with many different auto makers and have shared different versions of cars with them (like Isuzu, Land Rover, etc)....thought this was interesting.

Now we finally know why there are 4 empty blank covers on the center console arm rest on EK's. The window switches are there on this car.

Parking pole, half mast antenna, power headlights, heated seats (one switch per front seat) and coin slot.
The overseas five door Aerodeck (which IIRC uses a different center console) puts power window switches and a power window lock switch there.
Some cars that have been imported FROM a country that does not require a rear fog light TO a country that does require a rear fog light might install an Integra or Capa rear fog light and then put a rear fog light switch in the center console. This is not the factory placement for the rear fog light switch though. The factory placement for the switch is where the US cars have the cruise control or dimmer switch.

There's absolutely nothing rare about it, they're a mainstream car in Europe. The one you've pictured is a RHD UKDM model, which we have by the tens of thousands on our roads.
It might be rare in Japan specifically, but that'd probably be because it's about the most bland car ever and there's no point whatsoever in shipping one half way around the world.
