Replacing my Skunk2 coilovers. What to get next?
I finally saved up around 6bills for a replacement. I have gotten the Skunk2 coilovers for free as part of a deal with my friend. They were used and now my front left spring seems to be sagging no matter how much I am raising the height on that end, but I am also running stock shocks. The ride is horrible but the handling is pretty decent except the bounciness scares me whenever I take turns and I roll over a little bump.
Since, I just got my 98 Civic 4dr for about a year I don't know much about tuning suspension. What is a cheap set up I can get (shocks/springs or coilovers) that is a bit softer than the Skunk2s and still stiff enough to have fun with? Right now, my car is lowered to 1 finger gap in front and 1 1/2 for my rear. I do not plan to go any lower for I will be scraping driveways or hills where I live.
My budget is $600.

Koni/GC are sick, but suck for being slammed. I had them last year on my slammed EG and I was always bottoming out. If you want to slam, get a fully body coil system.
OP:but that's weird that your skunks went bad I have them on my APEXi N1 full body they work great. But yes they are getting replaced soon due to age of shock.

HHmmm, GC/Koni... Koni yellow or red? I'm planning on keeping the same height as I am right now. Would Koni Reds/GC work? I don't think I would need to adjust my shocks.
They allow more travel but you're still going to bottom out on soft *** springs. I'd imagine 330lb/in springs would keep you safe, unless your header hangs low like mine.
I can't run below 430lb/in springs up front, or else my header will be molested by Mr. Pavement.

OP, if your planning to drop close to 2inchs or more i'd go with a 400+lb spring rate up front. When i was running 10k/8k (539lb/448lb) spring rates, while dropped 2inchs+ all around, i had no problems with bottoming out. Ride quality was still barable for me, to others it might not.
Okay, someone please answer my question about Koni Red/GC or Yellows/GC also what is S2 coilovers that "punkdown" above posted.
