Default Dailing in cams: Equipment

I have a magnetic base dail gauge, degree wheel and piston stop.

How do I attach this gauge to the head?
What do I use to lock the VTEC rocker arms to check V2V clearances? (tried swapping the pins but that locks the valves diagonally)

It's S2 Pro2's going in a unshaved ITR head w/OEM gasket, OEM sized valves and stock height pistons. I was thinking I should just use Skunk2's quick setting and be done with it.

Opinions, advice?

Reverse the pins to lock VTEC. use the opening and closing numbers @.040 and do the math to find the centerline.
