Need a little advice..What would you do?
I am super excited....My wife is pregnant w/ our first child......A boy ! Hell Yeah !
However, aside from that life change, I need to make a vehicle change....
We bought her a 09 CR-V, which is great btw..... However, I need to replace one of my cars w/ something more kid friendly, b/c I will be dropping the little one off at the nanny's in the morning and she will be picking him up in the afternoon...No problem for her w/ the CR-V....
I on the other hand daily drive my ITR or my S2000.... Neither very kid friendly....
Yes, I understand that the ITR has a back seat and the LATCH system, but lets be realistic, the car is loud, and definately not the smothest ride/ esp. when compared to her CR-V, and it is a pain in the *** to put the baby seat in the back and put a kid in and out of it....
So, I am going to replace one of my vehicles w/ a 09 Civic SI 4 Door......
This brings me to my question of which one do I replace ?
I autox both...the S2K more often than the ITR... I have had the ITR on the track once (VIR about 2.5 hrs from me)
However, I would like to do that more, but I think my time will be spent w/ the little one more than at the track....and VIR does not let the s2k on track unless it has aftermarket roll over protection...which mine currently does not
I know this is the ITR forum, but I also know a lot of you have owned both....and a lot of you have kids...
Which one would you keep with the limited amount of time you would get to use it?
btw the ITR is a 97 w/ 143k on the odo and in great condition
and the s2k is a 02 w/ 39,9xx on the odo and in near mint condition
Thanks for any and all input

Really depends on you.
But I would drop the s2k.<---They are still a current model.
The R is more roomy and easier to work on.<---Finding a R the way u like it is harder 2 find.
That just me

i agree 100%, in a few years when/if you chose to replace one of your lost toys the s2000 will be an easier find
Dont get rid of the R. I have 2 kids and i have no problems putting them in, of course they are 7 and 4 and booster seats are easier but they love riding in my itr!!
Personally I would try and sell the ITR. It is getting up there in miles and while a fun car, isnt irreplacable. You seem to favor the s2k already and it seems to be in mint condition so why not hang onto it for a little while
It really depends which car you like more...
I think it makes more sense to drop the R. The Civic is also FF and it will drive more or less like the R due to the layout. So I would rather have an FR and FF than have two FF's....
Also the S2k is a conv...

Not even a question IMO, sell the S2000. I haven't missed mine once since I sold it. I'd miss my integra a lot which is why I'll most likely never sell it.
I also used to autocross my S2000, and honestly it's the only time I truely enjoyed the car, which wasn't justification for keeping it around, and I needed the garage space for the LeMons race car build.

care to elaborate as to why?

And... btw the wife hates the ITR, but loves the S2K
I appreciate everyones feedback thus far
i would sell the s2000, they are alot easier to replace later on down the line if u decide to get another one.
Aslo they are worth more as a trade in for a newer car.

I understand the R is just a car BUT what would be easier to find, a good condition R or a good condition S2000?
I wish I was as lucky, I've only owned a R. My next car, and daily, should be a S2000.
I THINK U SHOULD SELL THE S2K EVERYBODY HAS ONE NOT EVERYBODY HAS AN R...PLUS THE R HAS BACK SEAT....I WISH WHEN I WAS A BABY I RODE IN A TYPE R LOL......KEEP THE TYPE R...U WILL TURN MORE HEADS WITH THE R THEN AN S2K......
pics and specs and price you sell itr for?
idk personally id sell the s2k...but you are right it will be hard to keep a convertible in the near future with kids so it will be a while so your call...

Honestly, no one is in a better position to answer your question than you are yourself. You already own and live with both cars, so you know whether and how much you would miss each one if you didn't have it around.
It will also be easier to find another low mileage and clean S2k years down the line. Another clean *** '97 died this past week to thieves..
If you can still afford the payments on all three cars, plus baby, plus bills, plus etc...then keep what u got...you already got a baby carrier..
if i had to sell one or the other, i would sell the s2k. the R is a piece of history. limited numbers, rarely seen on the street. always turns heads. its rare and hard to come by. the s2k is nice also, but it's too small and too common IMO.
Joe has a good point, you'd likely get a little more loot for the stook. Then again, living where you do, it'd be tough to give up a convertible.
If it were me, even though I dropped my R like a bad habit, I'd sell the S2000.

Are both cars paid for? I personally like the S2000 better but it is a hard decision, do tou like FR or FF better, but then again like someone else said if you get rid of the R you will still have a FR and FF. Someone else also said that the S2000 is worth more and a better trade in but if you are fine on money now and the payments on the car are going be ok you could keep the S2000 and if something in your later life happens where you need more money the S2000's value will come in handy then. The question is do you think which ever one you get ride of you would buy again?
How long have you owned both of these cars for?
Reason why I ask is that if you've owned the 97 for awhile, you'd know pretty much the rarity of this particular year and as exactly what Doespike said, there's less and less of the 97's on the road.
On the other hand, your wife loves the S2000 and you seem to track more with it than the R. Which do you like better sitting in your garage for the next few years?
My girlfriend somewhat dislikes my R but then again, all my cars were integras......
Oh and congrats on the exciting news!
