i need a new project!! B16 or B18, HELP!
ok i have a 93 honda del sol si and i need a new engine. even thow D's are my thing, i want to go bigger! im about to leave to iraq and i need something to be waiting for me when i get back. im trying to find out the best set up for a b16 and b18. i am going to turbo this engine, so i want to know what you all thing. i was thinking on doing the whole engine Stage 2 ( Brian Crowner ) from bottom up. what so you all think?
I don't think a used B16A is worth over $2000, most of the good JDM engine suppliers charge at least that much.
The B18A/B and B20B/Z engines are cheaper and in many ways better IMHO.
I have daily driven a B16A EH2 for years BTW.

your right on par w/ amount of $ to do things right however if your going all motor id stick w/ b16 or b18c... if your gonna turbo then perhaps an ls or b20 is more suitable for you. if you are determined to turbo a si or gsr.. then perhaps you should check my for sale thread! the pistons and rods are a good startin point for a gsr turbo realizing that the compression on those are much higher and a riskier engine to boost. either way you go good luck and welcome!!

The grass is always greener, my friend. I DD'd a B18B EG until recently when I swapped in a B16. I don't think I'm missing anything but lower RPMs on the highway, honestly.
As always, I vote for the oddball G23 H2B setup. It's not common and it will already have low compression. If you're going turbo, I'm questioning that you'll have AC or power steering anyway...
12.1 compression LS ported to the max, upgraded valvetrain and 100 shot ....
budget swap for less then 2500 and you will be running 12's

im not saying im the best driver and let me rephrase what i wrote ... you cant smash on the car every time you drive it and when you do ... check up on the motor thats just what im trying to say of course i tracked it, it was that was the purpose of getting built
