It can be caused by basics such as O2

Aren't you drivnig an ex w/ a vtec motor?I think 5800 rpms is around the point of vtec engagement. If you have an adjustable fuel pressure regulator check that first. My type r would bog when I had the fuel pressure regulator set to lean anytime i would hit vtec. Adjust the regulator to run a little richer I can't remember my exact setting but that should do it(if you have an adjustable FPR).

could it be anything to do with a fuel filter or fuel pump at all or injectors?

maybe the V-Tec oil screen is dirty or clogged. or dirty fuel injectors. try some lucas injector cleaner.

It could be the screen, but it does sound like a fuel problem, your pump could be going or it could be the filter. How many miles do you have on your car? Also do you have an adjustable fuel pressure regulator? I also noticed in your mods you have an apex neo fuel controller? Fuel problem, fuel mod maybe how long have you had that controller on the car?

well the motor has like 6000 miles on it and it has a new fuel filter and the controller has been on there since the rebuild and there is not adjustable fuel pressure regulator

well it could be the opposite of the spectrum fuel running to rich. With your mods I reccommend getting a fuel pressure regulator with the gauge. But anyways the pump might not be able to support the mods or its going out a result of the mods. Also the fuel filter could have to many miles on it and it could dirty, those are recommended to be changed 125k-150k miles

Oh My bad you did change the fuel filter...ok Then I would change the pump, you might as well since you rebuilt the motor. They are going for $100 bucks or so on Ebay and with your list of mods you will need a stronger pump.

yeah that is what i am thinking but it was running really really rich and i was like having a bad time with it but then i took it to get tuned and when i did they made it not run so rich and i actually get a little bit better gas mileage so i am thinking that it went bad whenever it was running so damn rich....is that a possibility?

all a plugged sceen would do is prevent VTEC activation, not bog him. with that pump you should have had it retuned. that pump you got was a waist really. you can take out the injectors and clean the screen. also dont use the fuel cleaner ****. you can cause more issues then solve them, use hondas theory and dont **** with it.

X2 my gsr burns/leaks oil so much(I'm so lazy) when its low and vtec engages it'll fall on it's face. put oil in it and its fine you may have other problems but at least check it first. then youre not just throwing parts at it.

have you thought you might be running lean? to much air, maybe an intake leak or vaccumm disconnected. have you checked for codes when this happens.
