Icon3 h22a4 into ek civic...help

hello HT. i am new as a member but not as a viewer. i am currently in the process of getting my ek on the road and much help is needed. i have a h22a4 in my 97 ek. problem is i cannot get her to turn over. i am getting fuel as well as spark. i am running a obd1 h22 dizzy, jumper harness of course, and obd1 h22 ecu. optional p28 if needed. i also have the obd1 h22 injectors with a resistor box hooked up into the dead in plug. i am aware of the crank angle sensor on the a4's but from what i have gathered it is not needed with the obd1 dizzy. any feed back would be great. also info from people who have done this similar swap in there ek's would be fantastic. thanks HT. oh and i have been using the search engine for weeks now and still no luck.

also..would i have to replace the oil pump on the a4 with an a1? the sensor to the cps is just hanging but didn't know if that would effect anything.

How did you wire up the OBD1 distributor? What brand jumper harness was used? The oil pump sensor is not an issue, disregard it completely.

I have h22a4 in a 96 ek. Had it running but bogged terribly. Changed injectors dist. and diff h22 intake manifold w throttle body and tps map sensors attached. now the car will not fire up. It turns over. Theres fuel and spark. I also have my share of probs with the h22a4. I shouldv'e went with a B series.

sounds like we r in the same boat. i will get it running just a matter of figuring out the problem. its not timing or anything just doesn't want to start.

ok...so i have done a little research and i think i might of found the problem. the obd1 p13 92-95 ecu has an immobilizer. from what i have gathered this will not allow my car to start. the 96 obd2 p13 ecu does not have the immobilizer. the obd2 ecu will plug right in so i could trash the jumper harness. i have obd1 injectors obd1 internal coil dizzy(with jumper harness) and a resistor box ran. so pretty much everything is converted to obd1. would it be easier to convert back to obd2 meaning obd2 injectors obd2 p13 ecu and if that was done would i have to convert the dizzy as well and wiring in an external coil? any advice would be great thx.

Actually its OBD2 ecus that has the immobilizer. OBD1 P13 does not have the immobilizer. Im currently using the P13 ecu in my 96 EK. I finally rewired everything and got my beast on the road again.I did have start up problems also on my internal dizzy. Changed ignition module then it fired right up. Runs just fine and pulls real hard. Let me know if you need any help. I dont know too much but I did get my H22a4 running in my 96 EK. I think internal or external coils depends on your wiring kuz either or should work.

no cel's. only one is the auto tranny code. car was automatic. i took the motor apart as well because cylinder one had maybe 55psi cold and i think it might of needed 180 or so to start. the piston rings were fused to the piston. took me about 45 mins to remove them from the one piston. thought that might of had something to do with it as well. so there for with the obdi p13 obd1 injectors with resistor box and obd1 internal coil dizzy the car should start fine when re assembled?
